Manuel Kakabadse Navarro is President of Makana Inversiones, a company based in Quito, Ecuador that advises clients and facilitates investments into the Andean region. Makana has helped clients invest over $200 million into the region, helping them to accomplish successful entrance and achieve their strategic goals.
Before starting Makana, Manuel was the managing director and partner of several banks, leading expansion into new countries and successfully growing the portfolio of business and product market share. As a banker, he led acquisitions, developed products, and operations, and established successful sales forces across the region. He began his career at Citibank, before being asked to serve as the National Forestry Director in the Ecuadorean Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock.
Manuel holds a Masters of International Management from Thunderbird School of Business and received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Oklahoma State University. He serves as honorary consul of Georgia in Ecuador and on the boards of several nonprofits, including the Club de Agricultures, Industriales, y Profesionales, which is the oldest civic organization in Quito; and founder of the Association of Arabian Horse Breeders of Ecuador.
